OB2158

ENERAL DESCRIPTION

OB2158 is a high efficiency, high performance synchronous buck converter that is optimized for converting battery voltage or adaptor voltage into power supply rails required in cellphone, tablet, and other consumer devices using USB PD standard and Type-C cables. OB2158 is designed for applications requiring CV (Constant -Voltage) mode or CC (Constant-Current) Mode.

The OB2158 uses current-mode control with fixed PWM frequency for optimal stability and load transient response.

With integrated ultra-low RDS(ON) switches, the high-efficiency buck converter is capable of delivering up to 4A output current for charger interface and operates with a wide input voltage range of 9.5V to 30V.

OB2158 supports QC2.0/QC3.0, FCP, AFC, HV SCP, LV SCP and PD3.0 protocols, as well as Apple, Samsung, BC1.2 protocols.

OB2158 also provides soft-start, built-in cable compensation, input/output over voltage protection, over temperature protection, and output short circuit protection with hiccup mode. The built-in two-stage short circuit detection scheme effectively protects the device and system when the output hard short to ground.

OB2158 is available in ETSSOP20 packages and required very few external components for operation.
