GENERAL DESCRIPTION

OB2150 is a wide input voltage, high-efficiency, high performance synchronous-rectified buck converter that operates in either CV (Constant Output Voltage) mode or CC (Constant Output Current) Mode. With integrated low Rdson switches, the high-efficiency buck converter is capable of delivering up to 3.4A output current for charger interface and a wide input voltage range from 8V to 32V. OB2150 supports Qualcomm Quick ChargeTM 2.0/3.0 (QC2.0/QC3.0), MTK PE1.1 and PE2.0, FCP1.0, AFC fast charge protocols. It also support Apple, Samsung, BC1.2 protocols.

OB2150 utilizes Active Frequency Control technology to get excellent maximum duty cycle performance greater than 97% with high side N-channel power switch, which makes it feasible to support quick charge protocol in applications such as car chargers.

OB2150 utilizes soft driving technology to achieve good EMI performance.

OB2150 also provide soft-start, flexible built-in cable compensation (see cable compensation section), VIN/VOUT over voltage protection, over temperature protection, and output short circuit protection with hiccup mode. The built-in multi-stage detection scheme effectively protects the device and system when the output hard short to ground.

OB2150 is available in ESOP-8 package and required very few external components for operation.
